Limerick West): The attendance of FCA personnel at annual training in 1988 will not be affected by the call-out arising from the recent search operation.
Details of the numbers by rank and unit are in the form of a tabular statement which I propose to circulate in the Official Report.
The personnel involved were employed from one to ten days during the period from 23 November 1987 to 6 December 1987. Members received their normal rates of pay and, where they were employed on security duties, they were paid the appropriate allowance as paid to members of the Permanent Defence Force. In addition a small number who had not already attended annual training qualified for the annual gratuity by virtue of their having completed seven says or more on these duties.
