Vol. 378 No. 1

Written Answers. - Customs Regulations.

53.

asked the Minister for Finance in respect of a person (details supplied) in Belfast the reason goods, which were within the permissible limit, were seized from the person involved by a customs officer and are now to be returned to him; if any explanation or apology is being tendered; and if he will make a statement as to the instructions given to customs officers in the manner in which they deal with members of the public in such situations.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that it is not possible to supply the information sought by the Deputy in the time available. If the Deputy cares to resubmit the question in two weeks time the information sought will be provided.
