Vol. 378 No. 1

Written Answers. - Housing Grant Payments.

83.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason it is taking 12 weeks to pay out cheques in the mortgage subsidy section for Cork in his Department.

The large volume of payments being made — 100,000 applications for new house grants, house improvement grants and mortgage subsidy were paid in 1987 — may have resulted in delays beyond the normal in some cases. If the Deputy has any particular instances in mind, I will arrange to look into the position.
