asked the Minister for Health when he proposes to fill the chief dental officer post now vacant in the Eastern Health Board on a permanent basis; and if his attention has been drawn to the fact that there are now serious difficulties with the dental services in this area because of the failure to make this permanent appointment.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 97 and 98 together. There are no proposals before my Department to have the posts in question filled on a permanent basis. It has not been reported to me that there are any serious difficulties with the dental services in the two areas because of the failure to make permanent appointments.

I am having the question of filling the Eastern Health Board post raised with the board.
