asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will arrange immediate payment of calf premium and beef grants to a person (details supplied) in County Clare; and if he will outline the reason for the delay in this payment.

As regards the 1987 calf premium scheme, there has been no particular delay in the payment of grants and the person named will be paid in the normal course within the next fortnight. As regards the 1987 special beef premium scheme, the person named was requested to submit a pedigree certificate in respect of a bull presented for payment but has not done so to date. His application has, however, been approved in respect of six other male animals and payment on these will also be made shortly.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a farm improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

A grant of £1,212 under the farm improvement programme ws paid on 17 February 1988.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a farm improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

A grant under the farm improvement programme was paid on 10 February 1988.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a farm improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The person mentioned has not applied for a grant aid under the farm improvement programme.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will confirm when payment of a grant of £3,640 under the farm improvement programme will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary as this person was informed by his Department that he would be in receipt of same in January 1988.

Two grants totalling £3,640 under the farm improvement programme were paid on 10 February 1988.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment of a headage grant will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The person named will be paid his 1987 calf premium suckler cow and cattle headage grants shortly.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will arrange early payment of a farm improvement grant for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny where all works are completed and the Department notified.

A claim under the farm improvement programme for payment of a farm buildings grant has been received and will be paid as soon as practicable. All claims under the programme are dealt with strictly in order of receipt. Payments are being phased in such a way as to ensure adherence to the amount provided in the Vote. Consequently, there is some delay in making grant payment.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in having a grant under the farm modernisation scheme paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny where the work has been passed since September 1987.

Two claims under the farm improvement programme for payment of grants of £856 and £2,532 respectively have been received and will be paid as soon as practicable. All claims under the programme are dealt with strictly in order of receipt. Payments are being phased in such a way as to ensure adherence to the amount provided in the Vote. Consequently, there is some delay in making grant payments.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment of a farm modernisation grant will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; the reason any undue delay should occur in issuing payment; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
