Vol. 378 No. 9

Written Answers. - Dublin Hospital Incinerator.

112.

asked the Minister for the Environment if, under the Air Pollution Act, 1987, he is prepared to make a specific order in relation to the pollution being caused by the incinerator of St. James's Hospital, Dublin 8; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Investigation of particular complaints about air pollution is normally a matter for the local authority concerned, in this case Dublin Corporation. However, I understand that, in the present case, the emissions are from an old incinerator which is too small and inefficient to meet current needs. A new incinerator is being installed in the boiler house complex and this should resolve the problem.
