Vol. 379 No. 5

Written Answers. - National Monument Contract.

55.

asked the Minister for Finance if the Office of Public Works recently awarded a contract for scaffolding to be erected to carry out works on the roof of Cormac's chapel at Cashel, County Tipperary; if so, if it was an Irish company which was awarded this contract; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Commissioners of Public Works placed a contract for the supply and delivery of scaffolding for Cormac's chapel, Rock of Cashel, in February 1988; the contract was awarded to an Irish company. The scaffolding will be erected by the Commissioners' workforce. Scaffolding is required to facilitate conservation works to the exterior of Cormac's Chapel including the walls and towers as well as the roof.
