Vol. 379 No. 5

Written Answers. - County Wexford School.

78.

asked the Minister for Education when the proposed extension and improvement at Clonegal national school in Enniscorthy, County Wexford. will commence; if a start will be made in 1988 in view of the extra provision of £3.8 million announced in the budget for primary schools; and the level of the grant towards the cost of the work which she will pay.

Because of the pressure on the capital available to my Department for the national schools building programme, I am not in a position at present to authorise the extension scheme as originally proposed for Clonegal national school, Enniscorthy, County Wexford, to proceed.

However, following discussions between the school manager and officials of my Department revised plans for a modified two-classroom extension were drawn up and forwarded to the school authorities for consideration. I am not in a position at this stage to indicate when work may commence or to say what the level of the grant will be.
