The 1987 Public Service Pay Agreement which was negotiated in association with the Programme for National Recovery applies to staff in local authorities and in schools and colleges. Details of the main areas covered by this agreement are set out in paragraph 1 of the document entitled “Draft Agreement on Pay in the Public Service”. The terms of the agreement have been implemented throughout the public service.
