The position remains as indicated in my reply to the Deputy on 22 March last. It is still the Government's opinion that the range and diversity of course content in the vocational preparation and training programme is much more important to the participants than the actual allowance being paid. However, my Department co-operate with FÁS in the provision of separate training programmes for travellers which are not affected by the developments in relation to the vocational preparation and training programme.
