asked the Minister for Defence the current effective strength of the FCA and Slua Muirí; and the cost saving of reducing the annual training period of the reserve forces from two weeks to one week.

Limerick West): The effective strengths of the FCA and Slua Muirí on 31 March 1988 were 14,942 and 388 respectively. The cost saving of reducing the annual training period of the reserve forces by one week is approximately £2,000,000.
