Vol. 380 No. 5

Written Answers. - Civil Defence Equipment Storage.

25.

asked the Minister for Defence the conditions for storing equipment for the Civil Defence in the Dublin Corporation Civil Defence stores in Dublin and the Mayo County Council Civil Defence stores.

Limerick West): Storage of Civil Defence equipment throughout the country is primarily the responsibility of the local authorities concerned.

I am informed that Dublin Corporation hold this equipment in three separate stores at Pembroke Road, Stanley Street and St. Anne's Estate. Mayo County Council hold Civil Defence equipment for the time being in rented premises at Breaffy. On completion of a new control centre at Castlebar in 1989 this equipment will be transferred to county council premises.

I am informed that Civil Defence stores held under the control of both these councils are properly cared for.
