Vol. 380 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Longford School.

18.

asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the poor condition of Kenagh national school building, County Longford, and if she will make funds available as a matter of urgency to provide a replacement building.

The position regarding the building project for the proposed new national school at Kenagh, County Longford is that bills of quantities have been prepared. However, because of the pressure on the capital available to my Department for the national schools building programme, I am not in a position to indicate when it will be possible to authorise the project to proceed.

In the meantime, my Department will consider any reasonable request from the school authorities for grant-aid towards the cost of essential improvements to the school's existing accommodation.
