asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the fact that five students from County Donegal have still not been paid scholarships from the Donegal County Vocational Education Committee which were sanctioned by her Department; in view of the inordinate delay if she will direct that the payment be made immediately; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

My attention has been drawn to the matter mentioned by the Deputy. However, I understand from County Donegal Vocational Education Committee that four of the students have already received payment of scholarships. The fifth student was deemed ineligible for the award of a scholarship as the reckonable income of the student's parents exceeded the income limits of the relevant scholarship scheme.
