Written Answers. - Expansion of Indigenous Firms.

13.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will name the firms that have been selected for expansion and growth in accordance with paragraph 11 (ii) of the Programme for National Recovery.

The State agencies under the aegis of my Department are engaged in ongoing discussions with a wide range of Irish firms with a view to increasing their contribution to economic development and new job creation.

Resources are being concentrated on those indigenous firms which demonstrate a commitment and capability for significant export-led development or potential sales growth based on the production of advanced technological products for supply to internationally traded or skilled sub-supply firms within Ireland.

The identity of the companies engaged in these discussions is confidential.
