asked the Minister for Social Welfare when arrears of a deserted wife's allowance will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

A payable order for £408.10, in respect of the arrears in question for the period 3 March 1988 to 18 May 1988, has been sent to the person concerned. This sum represents the net amount payable after a recoupment of £742.50 of supplementary welfare allowance paid to her by the South Eastern Health Board during that time.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when a deserted wife's allowance will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The claim of the person concerned for a deserted wife's payment is being investigated by a social welfare officer. When the report is completed, a decision will be given without delay and she will be notified of the outcome.
