Vol. 381 No. 9

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

55.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will confirm that the first instalment of a mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8 within the next few weeks; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The first instalment of the mortgage subsidy will be paid as soon as possible.

56.

asked the Minister for the Environment if, in the case of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8, he will confirm that a grant approved for £2,800 in respect of a kitchen and bathroom extension still stands even though work has not yet commenced; the procedures to be followed if the person concerned wishes to make some alterations to the plans for the extension which would involve a slightly smaller extension; whether, in this case there would be any reduction or alteration in the grant approval; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The maximum grants of £800 and £2,000 approved for the provision of a bathroom and kitchen extension respectively remain valid. Should any alterations to the plans be made any adjustment, which may be necessary in the amounts of the grants, will be dependent on the report furnished by the Department's inspector on completion of the relevant works.
