Written Answers. - County Wexford Post-Primary Schools.

77.

asked the Minister for Education when the plans for the amalgamated secondary school at Gorey, County Wexford, will proceed to developed sketch scheme stage; the number of stages which will remain to be completed after the developed sketch scheme; and when she envisages that construction on this school will commence.

78.

asked the Minister for Education the progress which has been made this year in relation to the new post-primary school for Gorey, County Wexford; and when it will be started this year.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 77 and 78 together.

The outline sketch scheme for this project which is estimated to cost £3.7 million is currently being examined by my Department's technical staff. When this work has been completed the planning of the project will proceed to the developed sketch scheme.

The remaining stages in planning are: stage 3: developed sketch scheme; stage 4: detailed design; stage 5: bills off quantities; and stage 6: tender action and report.

It is not possible at this stage to indicate when construction work will commence.
