Vol. 382 No. 1

Written Answers. - Disability Allowance.

169.

asked the Minister for Health the reason a severely disabled person (details supplied) in County Kerry is being refused his disabled person's maintenance allowance.

Payment of disabled person's maintenance allowance in any individual case is a matter for determination by the health board concerned, having regard to all the relevant circumstances in that case. I had inquiries made of the Southern Health Board in this case and have been informed that the person in question is now being approved for payment of disabled person's maintenance allowance with effect from the date of application.
