Vol. 382 No. 1

Written Answers. - Gweebarra Bay Shellfishing Designation Order.

108.

asked the Minister for the Marine the present position regarding the designation order for shellfishing in respect of Gweebarra Bay, County Donegal, following the public inquiry held on 29 May 1986.

A public inquiry was held on 29 May 1986 under section 54 of the Fisheries Act, 1980, into the designation for aquaculture of Gweebarra Bay, County Donegal. Designation means that it is lawful to engage in aquaculture within the designated area, subject to licence issued by me. At the inquiry there were various views expressed and all of these will be taken into consideration before a decision is taken.
