Vol. 382 No. 1

Written Answers. - Wexford Amenity Area.

111.

asked the Minister for the Marine if he will sanction a transfer of property of .048 acres at Wellington Place, Wexford, from the Wexford Harbour Commissioners to Wexford Corporation, who intend to convert this piece of ground into an amenity area (details supplied) for the north end of Wexford town.

The position is that a head lease between the Minister for Communications and Wexford Harbour Commissioners was signed on 19 June, 1985 for the purpose of subleasing an area of land comprising 0.48 acres at Wellington Place, County Wexford, for use as a car-park by Wexford Corporation.

The question of drawing up an appropriate sublease is a matter for Wexford Harbour Commissioners. My Department are in touch with the commissioners in relation to this. The sublease will have to be cleared on my behalf by the Chief State Solicitor. I can assure the Deputy that I will do my utmost to expedite matters.
