Vol. 382 No. 9

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

127.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a new house grant will be approved for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford in view of the total cost of the works and the fact that the house has been completed satisfactorily; and whether the contract entered into by this person was strictly bona fide with a registered building contractor.

A decision in this case must await the receipt of additional information requested from the applicant.

128.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a new house grant will issue to persons (details supplied) in County Wexford in view of the cost of the works being in excess of that laid down by his Department and in view of the fact that the applicant operated as advised on the memorandum attached to the grant application; and if approval will issue.

Approval to the £2,250 "builders" grant has issued and payment will be made to the builder in due course in accordance with the conditions of the scheme.

129.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a first time purchaser's grant of £2,000 has not yet been paid to persons (details supplied) in Dublin 22 despite the fact that the persons concerned signed a power of attorney for the grant to be paid to their banks in January last and submitted it to his Department; if, in view of the fact that the persons concerned are now being charged interest by the bank because of the delay in paying the grant he will make arrangements to recompense the persons concerned for the amount of the interest; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
