Vol. 382 No. 9

Written Answers. - Remuneration of Teacher.

198.

asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the case of a person who is in employment at a school in County Dublin (details supplied) and was taken on as a temporary teacher for the period of 14 October 1987 to 23 November 1987; if her attention has further been drawn to the fact that her Department refused to remunerate her for that particular period in that educational establishment; and the action she intends taking to remunerate the person concerned.

As the employment of the teacher in question was in breach of the panel regulations, salary was not payable by my Department for the period of her service referred to. The question of her remuneration, therefore, would be one for the school board of management.
