Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

206.

asked the Minister for Education if she will arrange for payment of the outstanding grant to the Boards of Management of St. Thomas' senior and junior schools, Jobstown, Tallaght, Dublin 24 for works carried out.

207.

asked the Minister for Education if she will arrange for payment of a grant to St. Thomas' school, Jobstown, Tallaght, Dublin 24 to cover the cost of professional fees incurred in respect of a planned extension to the school not now being proceeded with.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 206 and 207 together.

As to the payment of grants to St. Thomas's national schools, Jobstown, Tallaght, Dublin 24 in respect of improvements recently carried out to the school building, a report on the matter together with recommendations as to grant payments is expected at an early date from my Department's professional advisers.

The question of grant payments to a number of schools including St. Thomas's which have incurred expenses on professional fees in respect of projects which were not proceeded with is under active consideration, and I expect the matter to be satisfactorily resolved in the near future.
