asked the Minister for Education if she will rescind the decision to place the first assistant teacher at Cloonfallagh national school, Kilkelly, County Mayo on the panel on the basis that such an action will reduce the school to a one teacher unworkable until

As the continuance of the post in question is not warranted under the new arrangements for teacher appointments in national schools from 1 September, 1988 it would not be open to me to make an exception in this case.

asked the Minister for Education the number of primary teachers who have been put on the panel as a result of the recent agreement on staffing levels between her Department and the INTO.

Under the agreement in question 1029 national teachers have been or will be notified of their eligibility to have their names placed on Diocesan or other approved panels to enable them to secure appointments on redeployment from 1 September 1988.
