asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will favourably consider an application for funding from the proceeds of the national lottery from the Athy branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association, County Kildare; if his attention has been drawn to the very important work undertaken by the association; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

An application under the scheme of grants to voluntary bodies in the social services area has been received from the organisation concerned. The application is at present being processed and as soon as a decision is made the organisation concerned will be notified.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if his attention has been drawn to the full extent of the services provided by the north County Kildare branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association; whether there is a need to expand and extend these services; if he will favourably consider an application from the association for funds from the proceeds of the national lottery; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

No application for funding under the scheme of grants to voluntary social service organisations administered by my Department and funded from the national lottery has been received from the above organisation. Information on the scheme is being sent to the organisation.
