asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will give a breakdown of super-levy liabilities for 1987-1988 including the gallonage and levy involved for (1) the co-operatives and dairies liable to levy and (2) producers with quota (a) under 25,000 gallons, (b) between 25,000 and 50,000 gallons, (c) between 50,000 and 100,000 gallons and (d) over 100,000 gallons.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 24 and 76 together.
It would not be appropriate for me to furnish details of super-levy liability of individual co-ops or dairies. On the basis of the returns made by the co-ops and dairies to my Department, the excess gallonage delivered over quota in 1987-88 is approximately 2.68 million gallons and the national levy liability amounts to approximately £2.9 million. These returns are, of course, subject to verification by my Department and such checks are being carried out at present.
A breakdown of the gallonages of producers liable for the levy is not available as such details are not furnished by co-ops and dairies because they are not required to do so under the Community regulations.
There are 25 purchasers liable for levy payments on the basis of the returns furnished and these are as follows:
