asked the Minister for Justice if his Department have appointed the relevant gardaí and number of gardaí to be stationed in the proposed new Garda sub-station at Leixlip, County Kildare; whether it is his intention to have these gardaí deployed in the area before the end of the current year; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 68 and 69 together.
It is expected that the proposed Garda sub-station at Leixlip will be opened within the next few months. The detailed allocation of Garda manpower to individual stations is a matter for the Garda authorities who have informed me that the manning level for this sub-station has not yet been finally decided.
