asked the Minister for the Marine if the review group promised by the Taoiseach to examine the plans for a marina in Dún Laoghaire Harbour, County Dublin has been established; the names of its members; and its terms of reference.

As announced in the Government press statement of 23 June 1988, the Planning Review Group for Dún Laoghaire harbour have been established. The membership of the group is as follows:—

Professor Dermot McAleese

Chairman, Whately Prof. of Political Economy, TCD

Mr. Paddy McPhillips

Department of the Marine, Principal Officer.

Mr. Michael Dorgan

Department of the Marine, Divisional Engineer.

Mr. Dermot McCann

Office of Public Works, Principal Officer.

Mr. Gabriel Walsh

Office of Public Works, Senior Engineer.

Mr. Tom Dowling

Corporation of Dún Laoghaire, Senior Administration Officer.

Mr. John Martin

Corporation of Dún Laoghaire, Senior Planner.

Mr. Padraig Love

Secretary, HEO.

The terms of reference for the group are as follows:—

1. To consider and report within 3 months on:

(a) an outline management plan which would indicate the broad lines along which Dún Laoghaire Harbour, in all its facets, should evolve in the future.

(b) as a matter of urgency and following consultation with the Harbour Liaison Committee to report on how best marina facilities might be provided at Dún Laoghaire in the context of the management plan.

2. To consider and report as soon as possible thereafter on:

(a) what other developments, if any, should take place in the harbour area and where such developments should be located.

(b) how existing and potential users of the harbour can best be accommodated.

(c) what steps should be taken to bring about an integrated approach by the relevant Authorities to secure the future of the Harbour as a public amenity and enhance its value to the community as a whole.

(d) for these purposes to consult with the Harbour Liaison Committee and any such other public or private interests as deemed necessary.
