Vol. 382 No. 11

Written Answers. - Revised Western Package.

61.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline the role proposed for Teagasc in the operation and implementation of the revised western package.

The pollution control, animal housing and fodder storage provisions of the revised western package do not require that a beneficiary must operate within a farm plan. Nevertheless, it has been decided, following discussions with ACOT, that applicants being issued with approvals for sizeable investments should be advised to consult their local advisers on the financial implications of their investments.
