The total costs incurred in providing accommodation at Confey College, Leixlip, in 1987 and in 1988 to date are as follows: 1987, £98,000; 1988 (to date), £11,000.
My Department understand from County Kildare Vocational Education Committee that there is at present a parttime cleaner/caretaker in Confey Community College working 30 hours per week. County Kildare VEC have written to my Department requesting additional caretaking/cleaning staff provision for the college. My Department is at present considering the VEC's request in the context of Government policy on public service staffing.
