Vol. 383 No. 3

Written Answers. - Fire Testing Facilities.

108.

asked the Minister for the Environment if it is intended to provide facilities to allow fire doors manufactured in this country to be tested in Ireland; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Arising from the creation of an open European market in 1992, the EC Commission has appointed a group of experts to investigate the fire testing procedures in use throughout Europe with a view to achieving harmonisation by 1992. Final decisions on fire testing facilities will be considered in the light of the outcome of these investigations.
