Vol. 383 No. 6

Written Answers. - Tree Felling Licences.

139.

asked the Minister for Energy the number of applications which have been received over the last ten years for licences to fell trees; the number which have been granted; and the areas for which they have been granted.

Two thousand, three hundred and twenty-nine applications for felling licences were received and 989 licences granted during the period 1 October 1978 to 30 September 1988. It is not possible to state the areas involved as felling licences are often issued in respect of numbers of trees rather than areas.

140. D'fhiafraigh

de Aire na Mara an bhfuil aon phleananna ann deontas a chur ar fáil le hobair dheisiúcháin a dhéanamh ar Ché Chladach na gCaorach, Cill Chártha, Contae Dhún na nGall, atá i riocht contúirteach i láthair na huaire.

Níl aon bheartas idir lámha faoi láthair maidir le Cé Chladach na gCaorach, Cill Chártha, atá faoi chúram Oifig na nOibreacha Poiblí. Breathnóidh mé ar an scéal nuair a aistrítear an ché faoi mo chúram i 1989.
