Vol. 383 No. 6

Written Answers. - Energy Conservation.

191.

asked the Minister for Health if any studies have been carried out into the potential for energy conservation in hospitals; and, if so, if there is any scope for savings in this area.

My Department have carried out a study of the use and control of energy in hospitals and the results of this study, including a set of recommendations designed to maximise savings in the area of energy conservation, have been circulated to the health boards and voluntary hospitals. Considerable savings have been made by health agencies in this area in recent years and the potential for achieving further savings is reviewed on a regular basis in the Department.
