Vol. 383 No. 6

Written Answers. - Lottery Fund Allocation.

194.

asked the Minister for Health if he will outline the allocations of funding under the national lottery to his Department to date; the total amounts; the total amount still to be allocated; and the total number of applications recieved.

In 1987-88 a total of £10 million was allocated from the national lottery to the health area. Of this, £2 million was used to fund the Health Education Bureau in 1987 and a further £2 million was used in support of the capital programme.

Of the remaining £6 million, £5,176,325 has been spent to date. An additional £676,500 has been approved and will issue shortly. Decisions regarding the balance of £147,175 will be made in the near future. Four hundred and ninty-eight applications for assistance from the health allocation of the national lottery proceeds have been received.
