Vol. 383 No. 6

Written Answers. - Clifferna, Cavan, School Transport.

262.

asked the Minister for Education if she will make a statement on school transport, arrangements serving Clifferna national school, Clifferna, County Cavan; and whether, in light of the distance some pupils live from the school and the poor condition of the roads, she will restore the level of transport to that in operation in 1987.

The number of eligible pupils offering for transport from September 1988 was insufficient to warrant the maintenance of the special service to Clifferna national school.

Accordingly, under the terms of the primary school transport scheme it was not open to my Department to continue the service after summer 1988.
