Vol. 383 No. 6

Written Answers. - Ballybunion (County Kerry) School.

266.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the provision of a new boys national school at Ballybunion, County Kerry.

There are no immediate proposals to grant-aid the provision of a new boys' national school at Ballybunion, County Kerry. I have, however, asked the local primary inspector to look into the quality of the accommodation at the existing boys' national school and to make recommendations with a view to its improvement. The school authorities will be informed as soon as possible of the outcome of this investigation. As the Deputy probably knows, boys also attend the local convent national school, so that the general organisation of first-level educational facilities in the Ballybunion area is also a factor to be considered.
