Vol. 383 No. 6

Written Answers. - Departmental Special Advisers.

44.

asked the Minister for Health the number and names of any special advisers brought into his Department since he took office; in relation to each person, if he will outline the duties he/she is expected to perform; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have available to me the services of the chief executive officer of the Eastern Health Board who is on secondment from that post. His duties include advice on the implementation of health policy by the health boards and allied agencies.

My Department, from time to time, avail of the services of specialist personnel in the health agencies who are seconded by their employing authorities. These personnel could not be regarded as special advisers in the sense referred to by the Deputy.
