asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the closure of the maternity section in the County Hospital, Dundalk, County Louth, resulting from financial cutbacks from his Department to the North Eastern Health Board; the proposals he has in relation to this serious matter in the short term and in the long term in the interest of the people of Dundalk and north Louth area; if his Department has given approval to the health board; his views on the situation now pertaining in the Dundalk area; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
