Vol. 383 No. 6

Written Answers. - Government Department Decentralisation.

94.

asked the Minister for Finance when he will proceed with the Government's declared objective of decentralising a significant sector of a Government Department to Nenagh, County Tipperary; the number of civil servants who will be involved in the transfer; if he will give a breakdown of the grades of civil servants involved; when it is anticipated that accommodation will be ready; and when the actual transfer will take place.

Under the current decentralisation programme, which is based on that originally formulated in 1980, approximately 200 staff of the Office of the Revenue Commissioners will transfer to Nenagh. An advertisement inviting applications for tenders will be placed in the newspapers tomorrow. It is expected that the accommodation will be ready in 1990 and that the actual transfer will take place around that time.
