15.

asked the Minister for Education if she will provide an improved school transport service for a person (details supplied) in County Meath who is attending the Central Remedial Clinic in Dublin 3 and who has to travel 3.78 miles to the nearest pickup point for service to the school.

All handicapped children are conveyed free of charge from a pickup point to the school-centre which they attend.

In the specific are referred to by the Deputy an extra grant of £300 has been offered to the parents of the child concerned.

The parents have also been in contact with the Department and the matter is currently being considered by my officials.

I would like to acknowledge the recent helpful submission made on the issue to the Department by the associations working with handicapped children.
