Vol. 383 No. 8

Written Answers. - Cloyne (Cork) Remedial Teacher.

48.

asked the Minister for Education if it is intended to appoint a remedial teacher for the parish of Cloyne, County Cork, where it is estimated that 100 primary pupils are in need of remedial teaching; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Available remedial teaching posts are allocated in accordance with a priority of educational need. The number of remedial posts to be sanctioned in any school year would depend on the financial resources available to the Department.

The application will be considered in conjunction with those on hand in the light of the availability of such posts in the future.
