With regard to existing directives, I would refer the Deputy to the "Directory of Community Legislation in force and other Acts of the European Community", which lists and classifies such directives up to 1 June 1988 and, in respect of directives which entered into force subsequently, to the daily Official Journal of the European Communities. Both these publications are in the Oireachtas Library.
In regard to Commission proposals for directives, I will place a list in the Oireachtas Library very shortly.
Experience has shown that it is not possible to predict the timetable within which proposed directives are likely to come into effect.
