Vol. 383 No. 8

Written Answers. - National Lottery Allocations.

66.

asked the Taoiseach the total amount of moneys allocated to date to projects in south-west Cork out of the proceeds of the national lottery; and if he will give details of same; and if he will give the proportion of such moneys expressed as a percentage of total allocations from his Department.

A total of £595,000 (i.e. 4%) of available funds was allocated by my Department to the following Cork based projects:

£

Department of the Taoiseach

335,000 (3%)

Irish National Ballet: first phase of Firkin Crane

130,000

Cork Opera House

100,000

Triskel Arts Centre

40,000

Graffiti Theatre-in-Education Company

30,000

Crawford Municipal Gallery, Cork

20,000

Cork Film Festival

15,000

Roinn na Gaeltachta

260,000 (6.5%)

An tÁras, Corcaigh

90,000

Saoráidí Calaíochta Oileán Chléire

170,000

Investment of national lottery funds in projects such as these is beneficial to a wide area surrounding the location of the project particularly where touring activities are being supported.
