Vol. 383 No. 8

Written Answers. - Flood Damage.

102.

asked the Minister for Finance the action he will take to alleviate the problem of severe and sustained flooding to a property belonging to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

A proposal for drainage of the area in question as part of the Maigue catchment drainage scheme was examined by the Commissioners of Public Works on a number of occasions but was found to be totally uneconomic. Accordingly, its inclusion in the Maigue scheme could not be justified, and no further action is proposed.
