Vol. 384 No. 1

Written Answers. - Land Tax.

35.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will meet with representatives of the ICMSA to discuss their proposals to substitute a land tax for the present tax on accounts system.

I have already had discussion and correspondence with representatives of the ICMSA on this matter. I have made it clear that Government policy on farmer taxation is now settled and that taxation based on factual determination of income will continue for farmers. This is the basis which applies also to non-farming taxpayers.
