asked the Minister for Justice the number of prisoners in Mountjoy Prison, Dublin 7 who are diagnosed as having AIDS or are HIV positive; and having regard to the number involved, the treatment which is available for them; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

At present there are 45 male and 10 female offenders in Mountjoy Prison who have been identified as HIV positive.
