Vol. 384 No. 1

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits.

93.

asked the Minister for Health the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry cannot be recertified by the Southern Health Board for disabled person's maintenance allowance; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The payment of disabled persons maintenance allowance in any individual case is a matter for determination by the health board concerned having regard to all the relevant circumstances in that case.

I have made enquiries of the Southern Health Board in this case and have been informed that the board is at present considering an appeal by the applicant. A decision on the appeal will be made very shortly.
