Vol. 384 No. 1

Written Answers. - VEC Employment Application.

114.

asked the Minister for Education in reference to her reply to Parliamentary Question No. 252 of 2 November 1988, whether the request to submit certain essential information in this case is exactly the same as the normal request made by her Department in relation to all such applications for employment; if not, the way in which the request differs; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Where, in the case of a person proposed by a vocational education committee for appointment to a whole-time teaching position in a vocational school, my Department is not satisfied that the person's academic qualifications satisfy the regulations for appointment, it is normal practice for my Department to examine those qualifications separately. The type of additional information which my Department may require in that context depends on the circumstances of each individual case.
