(Limerick East) asked the Minister for the Environment if he will name the local authorities which applied local charges on water supply and refuse collection in 1988; the amount of the charge under each heading for each local authority area; and the total estimated yield for each authority together with the expected collection rate expressed as a percentage of total estimated yield.
Written Answers. - Local Charges.
Details regarding the local authorities which applied charges on domestic water supply and refuse collection in 1988 and the amount of charge, where applicable, are contained in my reply to Question No. 204 of 27 January 1988.
Details of the total estimated yield in respect of these domestic charges, based on the local authorities' 1988 Estimates of Expenses, are set out in the following tabular statement. The collection of local charges is a matter for the individual authorities concerned and I am not in a position to speculate as to the collection performance for the year.
